NTP Configuration in HC-5.3.0-P1ΒΆ

The default NTP installation depends on whether Harmony Controller is deployed in an online or offline mode.

  • If the Harmony Controller is running in an offline mode, ntp-install is set to N by default, and NTP packages are not installed on the system. You will not be able to configure NTP servers from Operator Console after installation.

  • If the Harmony Controller is running in an online mode, ntp-install is set to Y by default, and NTP packages are installed on the system. You will be able to configure NTP servers from Operator Console after installation.

  • You can override the default ntp-install setting at the time of installation by adding a --ntpinstall parameter to the installation script. For example:

    • To install and configure NTP with Harmony Controller installation:

      ./InstallHC --ntpinstall Y

    • To skip installing and configuring NTP with HC installation:

      ./InstallHC --ntpinstall N
