Adding an Alert Definition¶
Log in to Harmony Controller as a user.
In the navigation pane on the left, go to Monitor > Alert, select a tenant from the drop-down list and click Proceed. The Alerts page opens.
Click Alert Configuration tab and then click Add an Alert Definition. Add Alert Trigger Definition dialog opens.
Enter the alert name, set the priority, and select the triggers either from canned, or custom or chart metrics (based on apps). For information on canned triggers refer to Canned Triggers for Creating Alerts
Select the resource instance and toggle to enable the existing action and select the action from the drop-down list. Set the notification type email or webhook or both, specify the user email and a message to display. Note that user can select multiple resource instances (such as 2 devices, few VIPs etc.) in a single alert configuration. If multiple selections are made, Harmony Controller creates multiple Alert instances with the name specified by the user in the form but with a number appended at the end starting with _1 for each instance and associated with one of the multiple instances of a resource.
Choose whether to use existing Notification profiles or to directly add details for Notification in the dialog. If you use existing Actions. Otherwise, you can select email or webhook or both. Using the webhook, user can post data to chat channel, a group, or a web server.
Deleting an Alert Definition¶
Log in to Harmony Portal as a user.
In the navigation pane on the left, go to Monitor > Alert, select a tenant from the drop-down list and click Proceed.
To delete an alert definition, select and click Delete.
If user selects multiple object selections while adding an alert, the alert name is appended with _1, _2 and etc. based on object selections.
Viewing Generated Alerts¶
Login to Harmony Portal as a user.
From left menu panel, go to Monitor > Alert, select a tenant from the drop-down list and click Proceed.
Select Generated Alerts tab from the top panel. Displays the generated alerts along with the alert name, trigger and condition.
To filter the generated alerts, use the search option.
Select or set the time window slider to view the generated alerts or set a custom range.
To download the generated alerts, select and click Download CSV.
To set the auto-timer for auto-refresh, select the button next to time window slider.
