Devices

Devices are Infrastructural components that provide A10 services. These include A10 hardware appliances, or those deployed as software on bare metal servers, vThunder images that user loads on any VM or a Harmony orchestrated cloud VM instances (also termed as “virtual Devices” in Harmony Controller), cThunder images for any containerized deployments such as Kubernetes, and Lightning image on cloud instances.

  3. Select a cluster, provide a device name, Thunder IP address, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location.

    Note

A cluster needs to be available or free to connect to a device.

  4. Enter the admin user name and password and click Next.

Note

If there is a time drift of more than 30 seconds between device and Harmony Controller, device actions and analytics may be affected due to this. Please consider configuring an Network Time Protocol Server on both Harmony Controller and device.

There is a warning displayed if there is any network connectivity issue between the Thunder device and Harmony Controller.

    _images/delete_device1.png

    Note

Use Force Delete option if needed. This will force Harmony Controller to delete the device even if the device de-registration process fails. The option can be used to delete a device which failed to register or in a case when virtual device VM is no longer accessible in the cloud infrastructure.

Deleting a Virtual Device

  1. Click Infrastructure > Virtual Devices.
