Adding and Provisioning Cluster

It is recommended that you read the following topic before you proceed further.

Adding a Cluster

You can add a cluster as single, VRRP-A or scaleout type and to add a cluster, follow the below steps:

  1. Log in to Harmony Portal as a user who has access to the tenant.

  2. Click Infrastructure > Clusters.

    _images/add_cluster.png
  3. Click Add New.

    _images/add_cluster_info.png
  4. Select the type either single, VRRP-A or Scaelout based on your Thunder device(s) configuration, provide cluster name and description to the cluster.

  1. For single cluster type, provide the device name, Thunder host name, port information, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location.

    Note

Port field allows user to configure any port.

When you change the port on Thunder, user expects automatically the port changes to be reflected in Harmony Controller. But for this, user first has to deregister, update the port on Thunder and again register the Thunder back as a fresh device.

  2. Enter the admin user name and password and click Save.

  3. For VRRP-A type cluster you need to select the configuration management as Harmony or aVCS.

    • For Harmony as configuration management, enter the cluster name, display name, description. For Device 1 and 2 enter the device name, Thunder host name, port information, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location. Toggle to enable or disable the management interface and click Save.

    • For aVCS as configuration management, enter the cluster name, display name, description, floating IP address. Enter the VCS master device information with device name, Thunder host name, port information, admin username and password, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location. Click Save

  4. For scaleout type cluster you need to enter the details of every device.

    1. For Harmony as configuration management, enter the cluster name, display name, description. For Device 1 and 2 and for additional devices, enter the device name, Thunder host name, port information, admin user name and password, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location. Toggle to enable or disable the management interface and click Save.

    2. For aVCS as configuration management, enter the cluster name, display name, description, floating IP address. Enter the VCS master device information with device name, Thunder host name, port information, admin usernamena and password, enter the data center or zone, country or region and location. Click Save.

Note

ACOS version 5.2.1 or higher support cluster type change of device/s when they are registered to Harmony Controller.

Viewing Cluster Information

  1. Log in to Harmony Portal as a user who has access to the tenant.

  2. Click Infrastructure > Clusters.

Provisioning the Cluster

Before You Begin

Ensure to have at least one tenant defined in Harmony Controller.

To associate tenants to cluster partition, follow the below steps:

  1. Access the clusters page.

  2. Select the cluster, select image_reference and select Provision.
