Monitor

The monitor section provides a list of basic set of Thunder alerts created for the service to monitor them. It also allows you to set the triggering points and the necessary actions to be initiated for a particular alert generated.

Following procedures should be carried out in sequence for adding alerts:

  1. Adding a Trigger
  2. (Optional) Adding an Action
  3. Adding an Alert

Triggers

Template where we define the condition, metric. Window - define how to colect the metric data from the device

Adding a Trigger

To create a new trigger, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Monitor > Triggers.

  2. Click on Add a Trigger.

  3. In the trigger section, provide the trigger name, category, sub category, object type and window type and size.

  4. In the threshold logic section, you can add one or more conditions and select the metric and provide the scaler function, conditon and value.

  5. In the trigger message section, you can add the trigger message.

  6. To duplicate the trigger, select image_reference and click Duplicate.

    This option will create a replica of the trigger and you can make any necessary changes if needed with the duplicate trigger defined.

  7. To delete a trigger, select image_reference and click Delete.

Canned Alerts

Canned alerts are a set of pre-defined rules which assist in setting-up alerts.

List of canned or system-generated alerts which are available at click Monitor > Triggers.

To duplicate a canned alert, click Monitor > Triggers > system-generated alerts and select image_reference and click Duplicate.

Actions

Notifications can be sent through email, or through an http URL.

Adding an Action

To create a new action, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Monitor > Actions.

  2. Click on Add a Action.

  3. Provide the action name and toggle to enable email, add the specific users or emails and the necessary subject and message.

  4. Toggle to enable the POST and enter the URL in the format https:// to which it alerts monitor related changes along with headers and message.

  5. To duplicate an action, select image_reference and click Duplicate.

    This option will create a replica of an action and you can make any necessary changes if needed with the duplicate action defined.

  6. To delete an action, select image_reference and click Delete.

Alerts

An alert is a notification generated by the system, based on a condition (or set of conditions). An alert can be set for a specific service.

The Alert condition allows the user to set different conditions depending on what alert notification user is looking for, the user can either set a single alert condition or multiple conditions based on the requirement.

Adding an Alert

To create a new alert, follow the below steps:

  1. Click Monitor > Alerts.

  2. Click on Add a Alert.

  3. In the notification section, provide the alert name, description, set the priority, set the tags and define the interval in minutes and threshold.

  4. In the trigger section, select the trigger defined earlier and in the object section select the object instance.

  5. (Optional) In the action section, select the action defined earlier.

  6. To delete an alert, select image_reference and click Delete.
